It would surprise most people to find out that I have never hit a baseball before. I know it sounds crazy but its true. My parents already had two sons when I was born and my mom didn't want another, so it was dance and cheerleading for me. I played a few other sports such as golf and tennis but never tried my hand at baseball or softball. Since baseball is Dan's sport I asked him to teach me how to play.
The other day Dan and I decided to find some indoor batting cages down in Reno. It took us a few hours looking on online and calling every wrong number that was listed to finally find one. To our surprise it was super nice and even had a bar inside to make it a little more fun.
I started out in the 45 mph baseball cage and I was surprised at how well I was doing. Then went over to the slow pitch softball which was even easier. After about an hour of being there my hands were aching so we decided to go home. Next time we will remember to bring batting gloves.
Everyone has been teasing me lately about being "Un-American," to have never hit a baseball, tried meatloaf or a Philly cheesesteak. I just recently tried a pot roast and I am making my way to the other so called "American" items I have never tried.
